My mystery guests turned out to be a Brazillian called Roberto and an Aussie called Mark. We got together at breakfast (included in the hostel price!) and decided to take the cable car to the top of the hill that overlooks the city and then hike down into the centre. The walk was great, if not a little steep, and in no time at all we were in the city. I booked my train to Oslo via a boat and mountain train ride and we headed to the bars via the fish market. After that we drank a lot of beer which at an absolute minimum of £5 a pint (0.4 litres actually) was not the best thing for the budget but definitely the best thing for our thirsts.
