Journey to Norway and arrival in Bergen

Well that's the last time I travel without supplies on a DFDS ferry. The food is as lousy as it is expensive and a double vodka with lemonade will set you back over £7.50! Passing through the edge of the fjords though was spectacular, the houses look like models and the enormous oil and gas ships that pass you by are quite a sight. The sun was shining for the most part but it got quite cool when the sun started to set (at 23:15) on our slightly late arrival into Norway's 2nd largest city.

All I needed to do now was to find my hostel which was a short 5KM away. I jumped in a cab who stopped at an ATM on the way (well 2 actually, the 1st one didn't like my card!) and headed to 'The Montana'. 6 minutes and £15.70 later I arrived outside the hostel and after learning that they do not allow sleeping bags, I paid the excess for sheet rental and went to look for my dorm. The 2 bottom bunks had already gone and a voice from one of them said "It's OK, you can turn the light on if you want' and so I proceeded to make my top bunk bed up in the dimmest light I could work with. As I was trying to be quiet, you can imagine how much noise I made ;-). Once I was done I hit the showers and got in bed with my book. 5 minutes later, the other occupant arrived and got into his bunk. Just before 1AM all was dark and despite being too hot and in the company of 2 snorers, I fell asleep.
