Oslo and Trondheim

What Oslo lacks in character, it makes up for in women! I have never seen so many stunningly beautiful girls in one place which leaves me wondering if there is any connection between this and the prohibitive prices for alcohol i.e. the lack of a need for 'beer goggles'! But anyway, apart from the overpriced food, drink, transport and accomodation, you can get by here quite cheaply :-|. I wandered round the City centre in the roaring summer heat and was offered free Danish pastries by yet more gorgeous women whilst watching cool street performers earning what probably amounts to a 6 figure salary!

At :1430 I returned to the station to meet Roberto who was coming in from Bergen a day after me and who was to join me for the next 8 hours on our way to Trondheim. On the train I spoke to a girl opposite me who is studying in Oslo to become a 'musical therapist'! She heads back home to Trondheim a few times a year and recommended that as I only had 2 hours in the city, I should go and see the church. It is certainly impressive (apart from it's actual purpose ;-) and after we had wandered round the city for a while, we returned to the station to get mine and Roberto's 2nd and 3rd long haul train journey of the day. I had chickened out earlier and booked a sleeper wagon whilst Roberto stayed in his seat with his 'magic pills' (Seasickness tablets). The sleeper carriage was brand new, very comfortable and totally silent. Within a few minutes (or possibly seconds) I was asleep.
