Podgorica
I now hold a record for the fastest visit to a capital city ever. I arrived in Podgorica at around 03:30 on Tuesday 2nd October and left just after 04:00. Firstly, we narrowly avoided being ripped off in a cab before going to the only reasonably priced hotel in the entire city with a view to getting a bed for what was left of the night. The woman on the desk gave us an overinflated price for a room and then had the cheek to say that she could offer us a discount and then gave us what should have been the actual price! As men of principle we turned around and left without saying another word and headed to the deserted bus station in the hope of making our way to the coast. As luck would have it, a rather desperate cab driver offered to drive us there for €40 and without too much resistance he quickly agreed to take us for €30. The stark office blocks of 'Sodgorica' shrank in the background as we headed back to the good old Adriatic in a knackered Mercedes taxi with no seatbelts.
